London design pricing is out of kilter with what most brands actually need
The average Zone 1 London studio will quote £20k-£50k for a small business website. Some of that is justified — world-class studios doing world-class work. Most of it isn’t. Most of it is office rent in Soho, three tiers of account management, and a design team you never meet.
We design from Manchester for London clients. Same quality, typically half the price, and you work directly with the designer. The brief goes to the person drawing the screens, not a project manager in a Notion doc.
The work is mobile-first because Google indexes mobile first and 70%+ of UK traffic is mobile. We design the phone view first, then upscale to desktop. Not the other way round (which is why so many sites feel awful on a phone).
Process
- 01. Intent mapping. Who lands on the site, from where, looking for what. We write this before any visuals.
- 02. IA and wireframes. Structure first. Low-fi in Figma. Agreed before visuals start.
- 03. Visual design. Full design system: typography, colour, components, states. All as reusable Figma components.
- 04. Interactive prototype. You click through the site in Figma before a single line of code is written.
- 05. Handover. Annotated file, component library, exports. Or we build it via Web Development.

Project-based. A typical London small business site (5-10 pages, full mobile + desktop, design system) sits in the mid-4-figure range. Ecom and custom app designs scale from there based on scope.

How long does design take?
3-6 weeks from kickoff to final Figma file. Depends on scope and feedback pace.
Can you build on Shopify or WordPress?
Yes — via our Web Development service. Or handover to your in-house team.
What about brand identity work?
Light brand (logo refresh, typography, colour) folds into a web project. Full brand identity we’d scope separately.
Will the design rank well on SEO?
Design structure feeds SEO. We plan hierarchy, heading structure, and internal linking into the IA phase. SEO itself is a separate service.
Who owns the files?
You, on full payment. All Figma files transfer ownership.
